NFIB Holds Virtual Small Business Day

We weren’t able to meet in person because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but we hosted a Virtual Small Business Day at the Capitol today.

Small Business Day gives our members a chance to come together and learn more about the state and federal issues affecting their small businesses.

Speakers at today’s virtual event included Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann, who talked about his background as a small business owner and briefed members on key issues such as efforts to expand broadband internet to rural communities throughout the state.

House Speaker Phillip Gunn the plan to eliminate the state income tax. “It is pro-business, pro-economic development,” he said. “Primarily for your industry, it’s putting more disposable income in the pockets of the citizens, and I think all of us know what they’re going to do with that disposable income: they’re going to dispose of it. They’re going to go spend it.”
