Over one week ago citizens in Illinois awoke to the news that Gov. Rod Blagojevich was arrested at his home in Chicago, taken away in handcuffs, accused of trying to sell a U.S. Senate seat. Since then various efforts have been pursued to remove him from office, including top officials calling for his immediate resignation.
