The Louisiana Legislature adjourned sine die at 6 p.m. on June 3. This year’s session focused on insurance reform, lawsuit abuse reform, education reform, and making it easier to do business in Louisiana. The biggest focus for NFIB was insurance reform and supporting business friendly legislation. W
NFIB strongly supported legislation to cut the sales tax on commercial leases from 5.5% to 4.5% with additional legislation further reducing it to 2% in the second quarter of 2024.
NFIB members told Gov. Lamont to veto striking workers legislation, and in June he did just that!
