“Despite a reduction in sales and profits, our small business members want to hire,” NFIB State Director Jeff Burdett said. “But finding qualified workers remains a real challenge. Thankfully, with the voters’ approval of Prop 9, Main Street Texans will see more than $500 million in tax savings annually, making it easier for them to contend with this tight labor market.”

“A reduction in sales and profits has certainly dampened optimism on Main Street,” NFIB State Director Brad Jones said. “Our small business members are resilient, despite these challenges and the ongoing labor shortage, with many still trying to hire.”

“A decline in profits and fewer sales has dampened optimism for small business owners,” NFIB State Director Michael Smith said. “Ultimately, Main Street is not finding the right applicants to fill their open positions, which is exacerbating the day-to-day challenges of operating their business.”
