NFIB will continue working to advance Right to Repair protections for Wyoming’s small business owners

CHEYENNE, WY (July 10, 2026) – Following the recent antitrust settlement between the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and John Deere, NFIB State Director Michael Smith released a statement highlighting the need for right to repair protections in Wyoming.

“This settlement is a major victory for farmers, independent repair shops, and small business owners who rely on John Deere products in their operations,” Smith said. “Right to repair is about ensuring our small business owners have the freedom to repair the equipment they rely on for their livelihoods. On behalf of our members across Wyoming, we will continue working with lawmakers to advance right to repair protections for small business owners.”

Background:

During the 2026 regular session, NFIB supported HB 15, which would have established a Right to Repair for digital electronic equipment by requiring manufacturers to provide access to parts, tools, and repair documentation.
