NFIB Wyoming Urges Lawmakers to Support “Right to Repair”

February 12, 2026

“Small business owners need the freedom to repair the equipment they rely on for their livelihoods.”

CHEYENNE (Feb. 12, 2026) – Ahead of the House Travel, Recreation, Wildlife & Cultural Resources Committee hearing, NFIB State Director Michael Smith urged lawmakers to support House Bill 15 to establish a “Right to Repair” framework for digital electronic equipment.

“Independent shops and small business owners need the freedom to repair the equipment they rely on for their livelihoods. Small businesses are the foundation of Wyoming’s economy, totaling almost 99 percent of businesses in the state. When their equipment breaks, they can’t afford a delay. They need access to a quick and thorough repair, so they can get back to meeting their customers’ needs and creating good-paying jobs. We urge lawmakers to stand up for small businesses and support HB 15.”

Background:

HB 15 establishes a Right to Repair for digital electronic equipment by requiring manufacturers to provide access to parts, tools, and repair documentation.
