Wisconsin Employment Hits Record High

Wisconsin now has more than 32,00 jobs compared to last year.

Wisconsin Employment Hits Record High

According to a recent report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Wisconsin’s total non-farm jobs reached a record high of 3,012,400 during the month of August.  This is an increase of 32,800 jobs from a year ago, and an increase of 5,700 over the July job total.   Wisconsin’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.9 percent, and the states total labor force participation rate increased to 65.7 percent, and the number of unemployed people increased to 8,400 during the month of August but decreased 5,400 through the year to 89,500 people.   Amy Pechacek, Secretary of the Department of Workforce Development said, “Wisconsin reached an historic high in total nonfarm jobs for the second straight month, continuing an economic winning streak that included a record low monthly unemployment rate and number of unemployment individuals during 2023.”
