Watch: NFIB MS Director Discusses Small Business Optimism

Leah Long spoke with SuperTalk Mississippi about the economy and other key issues

NFIB State Director Leah Long was a guest today on “Middays with Gerard Gibert” on SuperTalk Mississippi. She talked about the latest NFIB Optimism Index and previewed some of the issues we’ll be dealing with in next year’s session of the state legislature.

“The latest results of our monthly survey is it is, unfortunately, a little bit lower,” although it remains above the 52-year average, Long said.

“Costs are high, and you know, hiring it’s still tough for these small business owners, and we’ve had a little bit of slowing sales, and, obviously, the supply chain issues the last couple of months, especially,” she said. “It’s added to the economic uncertainainties of these business owners are feeling right now.”
