Senate and House committees continue to weigh bills that could affect small businesses
Lawmakers in Nashville are moving briskly to close their committees and hammer out details of the annual state budget, their only constitutional requirement before they can adjourn. The Senate and House Commerce committees, where many bills of interest to small business are debated, should close in a few weeks.
So far, no major proposals that would be harmful to all small businesses have advanced, but there have been plenty of attempts with more surely to come.
Leaders expect the 114th General Assembly to go “sine die” around the third week of April, if not sooner.
Next month, NFIB State Director Jim Brown will provide a full recap of news laws of interest and bad proposals that were defeated.
