Washington’s Small Businesses Endorse U.S. Rep. Dan Newhouse for Re-Election

Third-generation farmer and entrepreneur an expert on issues unique to the West

OLYMPIA, Wash. (April 15, 2024) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Rep. Dan Newhouse for re-election to the United States House of Representatives to represent Washington’s 4th Congressional District.

“Rep. Newhouse is a third-generation farmer and knows first-hand the issues important to small business owners,” said Patrick Connor, NFIB Washington State Director. “He is a proven advocate for Washington’s small businesses in Congress and has been a valuable leader for them as the Chairman of the Western Caucus, where he defends the local Snake River Dams. Rep. Newhouse supports pro-growth policies that would unleash energy affordability, lower health care costs, slash red tape, and lower the tax burden for small businesses. Currently, he is co-sponsoring the Main Street Tax Certainty Act, a top priority for small businesses as it would make the Small Business Deduction permanent. We are pleased to endorse Rep. Newhouse for re-election today and look forward to continuing to work with him.”

“I am honored to be endorsed by the NFIB and small businesses across Washington State,” said Rep. Newhouse. “As a farmer and small business owner, I have experienced how government red tape and regulations placed on small businesses threaten our ability to grow and thrive. I am proud to stand firm with our small businesses in opposition to big government overreach and will never stop fighting to cut taxes and eliminate harmful federal regulations that stunt the growth of our small businesses in Congress.”

“Rep. Newhouse has earned a 100% NFIB voting record, demonstrating his commitment to small businesses in Congress,” said Sharon Sussin, NFIB Senior National Political Director. “He has advocated against burdensome government regulations and mandates like the EPA’s Waters of the United States rule, which is particularly harmful to small business landowners and farmers. We are proud to endorse him for re-election.”

The endorsement is issued from NFIB FedPAC, NFIB’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by voluntary contributions by NFIB members over and above their membership dues. Decisions made by the NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member-driven grassroots evaluation.
