Small Businesses to State Lawmakers: Let’s Unleash the Kansas Economy

January 8, 2024 Last Edit: July 20, 2024

NFIB Kansas calls on the Legislature to cut taxes, simplify the tax code, and bolster the skilled workforce.

TOPEKA (Jan. 8, 2024) – As the Kansas Legislature gavels into session today, NFIB State Director Dan Murray called on lawmakers to prioritize the Kansas economy.

“The challenges of owning and operating a small business have been exacerbated by rising prices and a persistent labor shortage. But with our state’s budget surplus, the Legislature has a tremendous opportunity to return that money to the taxpayers. From cutting taxes and simplifying the tax code to bolstering the workforce, small business owners want to see lawmakers come together to unleash the Kansas economy. When we help small businesses keep their doors open, we help all Kansans. We look forward to working with lawmakers to make it easier to do business here in the Sunflower state.”
