NFIB thanks Rep. Gonzales for standing up for Main Street by making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent.

Rep. Tony Gonzales (TX-23) visited NFIB Members and Small Business Owners Mike and Freda Powers of Powers Automotive this week in Alpine, Texas. Powers Automotive is a longtime staple in the Alpine community, serving customers out of the same location for more than four decades.

Rep. Gonzales enjoyed getting to spend some time at this family-owned business to talk about the key small business wins in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. NFIB used this opportunity to thank the Congressman for voting for this critically important bill that makes the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent.

“Local businesses power our communities,” Rep. Gonzales said. “Advancing policies that support our business owners and allow them to operate and grow their businesses is ALWAYS top of mind. The One Big Beautiful Bill will make the 20% tax deduction for small businesses PERMANENT.”

“Rep. Gonzales has been a key advocate for small business, having earned a 100% lifetime voting record in Congress,” NFIB Principal of Federal Government Relations Louis Bertolotti said. “Making the Small Business Deduction permanent has delivered real certainty to small business owners here in Texas and across the country.”

“Our communities are strong when our small businesses are strong,” NFIB State Director Jeff Burdett said. “By averting a massive tax hike at the end of the year and making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent, Congress has made it easier for Main Street employers to continue meeting their customers’ needs. We thank Rep. Gonzales for his efforts on behalf of small business owners.”
