Redding NFIB Member Speaks Out on National Podcast

NFIB thanks member Larry Fuqua, owner of Everyday Fitness in Redding, California, for making the time to share his observations on the state’s minimum-wage increases on the Small Business Rundown, NFIB’s national podcast. “No one speaks with more authority about small business issues than a small business owner, something policymakers of every stripe understand and appreciate fundamentally,” said NFIB California State Director John Kabateck. Fuqua joined Kabateck and Tim Goodrich, NFIB’s vice president of state government relations, for the 41st episode of the Small Business Rundown podcast released August 8. The three dive into the impact of minimum wage increases in California and how the changes in California have a national impact. Fuqua explains the changes his business has made to accommodate minimum wage increases, including tips for other small businesses responding to similar wage mandates. Government mandated wage increases can be a major concern for small businesses as they seek to operate their enterprises, hire, and keep employees.
