Phase-in of New York Farm Worker Overtime Change to Begin on January 1st

Beginning January 1st, the overtime threshold for New York farm workers employees will be lowered from 60 to 56 hours a week.

Beginning January 1st, the overtime threshold for New York farm workers employees will be lowered from 60 to 56 hours a week. The process will continue with the overtime threshold limit reducing by four hours every other year until reaching 40 hours per week in 2032.

The state is offering tax credits to farms to help offset the financial cost of this change.
