NFIB Presents Facts to Louisiana UI Task Force

NFIB State Director Dawn McVea recently spoke on behalf of small business owners before the state Unemployment Insurance Task Force.
Small business owners understand that layoffs related to the pandemic took a toll on the state’s UI Trust Fund, but McVea said owners can’t afford another tax increase to shore up the fund. She urged the task force to hold the legislature accountable for backfilling the UI Trust Fund with federal recovery dollars to avoid tax increases on small businesses.
“We will continue to fight for small biz during this year’s legislative session to keep the UI program manageable for employers and for the workers who need it,” McVea said.
