NFIB Joins Business Groups for Small Business Day in Columbia

NFIB joined other business groups in Columbia today for the inaugural Small Business Day at State House. Over 100 small business owners from throughout the state attended the event, held on the steps of the state capitol building in Columbia. Speakers included Gov. Henry McMaster, who talked about the important role small businesses play in the state’s economy. Later, NFIB State Director Ben Homeyer led a panel discussion featuring Rep. Shannon Erickson (seated, on left), Rep. Roger Kirby, Rep. Bart Blackwell, and Sen. Mike Richenbaugh. “Small Business Day was a good event that served two important purposes,” Homeyer said afterward. “It helped NFIB members and others who attended understand more about what’s happening in Columbia, and it reminded our legislators and other elected officials of the important role small businesses play in the state’s economy.”
