NFIB Arizona Highlights Small Business Challenges on the Seth Leibsohn Show

PHOENIX (Oct. 20, 2023) – In a conversation on the Seth Leibsohn Show, NFIB State Director Chad Heinrich discussed several challenges small business owners in Arizona face, from inflation and the worker shortage to the upcoming expiration of the 20 percent Small Business Deduction. Highlighting what’s at stake for job creators if Congress doesn’t pass the bipartisan Main Street Tax Certainty Act, Heinrich said: “In 2017, large tax cuts were passed at the federal level. Those were very important to small business.” “Here’s the danger that we have. We were successful back then in getting the 20 percent Small Business Deduction right off the top of the income to try and find parity with the corporate cuts that were proposed. However, the corporate cuts are permanent in law. The individual tax cuts, which hits everybody, those are going to expire in 2025.”’ CLICK HERE to learn more about NFIB’s efforts to stop the small business tax hike. Heinrich continued, discussing how small business owners faired during the 2023 Legislative Session: “One thing about divided government – with a Democrat in the Governor’s office and Republicans running the Legislature, is we didn’t do super great, and we didn’t do super bad. We had some wins that were nice to see and no big losses.” READ: Arizona Legislative Session Adjourns with Some Wins and No Losses for Small Business CLICK HERE to listen to the full conversation.
