Main Street Calls on Governor Parson to Improve Business Conditions in Missouri

From boosting start-up entrepreneurs to developing our workforce, there is tremendous opportunity for lawmakers to come together and support small businesses and the hardworking Missourians they employ.

JEFFERSON CITY (Jan. 24, 2023) – Ahead of Governor Mike Parson’s State of the State address, NFIB State Director Brad Jones urged lawmakers to support Missouri’s economy.

“A recent NFIB survey of small business owners found that inflation is the single most important problem in operating their business. The worker shortage is showing no signs of abating, as many of our job creators can’t fill open positions. From boosting start-up entrepreneurs to developing our workforce, there are tremendous opportunities for lawmakers to come together and support small businesses and the hardworking Missourians they employ.

“We will continue to work with the Governor, his cabinet members, and the legislature to adopt policies that promote small business owners’ interests.”

Background:

According to a recent NFIB survey, 23 percent of small business owners reported that inflation was their single most important problem in operating their business, up one point from last month, and replacing labor quality as the top concern. CLICK HERE to view the full survey.
