“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and I am passionate about ensuring they know how to use their strong voice in policy decisions that affect their ability to grow and thrive,” Kylie Barber said. “I look forward to mobilizing business owners to engage with policymakers, and advance NFIB’s mission to protect free enterprise and promote a pro-business climate across my region.”
As a proud Arizona native, Barber understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing business owners in the Southwest. Barber has dedicated her career to championing causes that directly impact communities and small businesses. As a former candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives, Barber built a broad coalition of supporters and was endorsed by NFIB. Before running for office, Barber served as a director of a non-profit organization, where she led statewide coalitions, engaged in strategic lobbying efforts, and worked to advance key legislative initiatives that impact Arizona families. Barber also has experience working on Capitol Hill, where she drove bipartisan support for rare disease health policy reforms.
Barber has earned three master’s degrees—an M.L.S. in International Rule of Law and Security from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, an M.J. in Children’s Law and Policy from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and an M.S. in Child Development from the Erikson Institute—equipping her with a deep understanding of legal and policy frameworks that impact businesses, families, and communities.
Outside of work, you can find Barber horseback riding, competing in the sport of bodybuilding, and spending time with her 16 (and counting!) nieces and nephews.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
