Kansas Small Business Owners Aren’t Exempt From the Labor Challenges Our Country Faces

TOPEKA (Oct. 12, 2023) – NFIB State Director Dan Murray testified before the House Committee on Commerce, Labor, and Economic Development, where he shared some of the challenges Kansas small business owners face and answered lawmakers’ questions. During the hearing examining the regulatory burden on start-ups, Murray commended the Committee’s efforts to bolster the workforce in the state. Noting how the labor shortage and inflation continue to take a serious toll on small business owners, Murray said: “The labor shortage continues to hinder Main Street, as 43 percent of small business owners reported job openings they could not fill. That’s a significant number.” CLICK HERE to watch Murray’s testimony before the committee.
