Did you miss NFIB's first webinar on the new Illinois Paid Leave Law? Here is the recording.

In January, the Illinois General Assembly passed paid leave legislation, Senate Bill 208, which was signed into law by Gov. Pritzker this month. The new mandate will enable all employees in the state to accrue up to five days of paid leave per year and goes into effect on January 1, 2024. NFIB was the only statewide business association that opposed this legislation, advocating consistently against the proposal in Springfield and in the news media. However, once enactment appeared inevitable, NFIB Illinois announced that it would host a series of informational webinars as a service to its members to aid compliance with the new requirement. The first event took place on March 2. State Director Chris Davis lead an overview of the new law, with expert input from employment attorneys Stephanie Mills-Gallan and Meg Karnig of the law firm Littler Mendelson.
