Did You Miss NFIB Vermont's Virtual Member Event, "Paid Family & Medical Leave, Explained"? We Have the Recording.

NFIB State Director Shawn Shouldice last week hosted an informative webinar for members and fellow small business owners about proposed state-mandated paid family and medical leave (PFML) legislation in Montpelier. Passage of a PFML law in the coming legislative session would increase the difficulty of operating a business in Vermont’s already over-regulated and challenging economic environment. State Director Shouldice was joined by Kendal Smith, Governor Phil Scott’s Director of Policy Development & Legislative Affairs, to discuss the pitfalls and costs of mandated PFML and to present an update on the Scott Administration’s new voluntary leave program, which commenced in July of this year. The conversation and questions explain the ongoing rollout of Gov. Scott’s non-compulsory program, as well as NFIB’s efforts with regard to the costly and mandatory proposals before the Legislature.
