Federal Government Relations' Josselin Castillo on the Small Business Deduction
Josselin Castillo, NFIB’s principal of federal government relations, spoke to listeners of the Mottek on Money program, April 16, on KABC 790-AM in Los Angeles.
Most of the five-minute interview with host Frank Mottek was dedicated to NFIB’s No. 1 priority, stopping the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction from expiring at the end of the year, which would hit more than 30 million small business owners with a tax increase.
“We’re diving a sense of urgency because D.C. likes to wait until the last minute,” Castillo said about NFIB’s intense lobbying effort on the issue. “When it comes to business certainty, especially for the U.S. foundational economy, which is small business owners, we really can’t wait.”
On March 24, NFIB President Brad Close also discussed the importance of the Small Business Tax Deduction on the Mottek on Money Show. It was the second time since September of last year that Mottek has interviewed Close on this vital issue for Main Street enterprises.

NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
