Tax Season Begins in Alabama
- File your business’s W-2s on time. Employers may face penalties if they don’t file employee W-2 forms with the department by Jan. 31.
- File your tax returns early. Filing early can help the department get refunds approved earlier and enables taxpayers to get ahead of ID thieves.
- File electronically. Taxpayers who file their returns electronically and have their returns directly deposited into their bank accounts receive their refunds quicker than those who file paper returns. Click here to learn more about electronic filing.
