Sen. John Albers Earns Guardian of Small Business Award

The Fickle Pickle owner Andy Badgett presents the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award to Georgia state Sen John Albers

NFIB has presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award to state Sen. John Albers today in Roswell. Albers represents the state’s 56th District, which includes parts of Cobb, Cherokee, and Fulton counties.

The presentation occurred at The Fickle Pickle, an NFIB member business in Roswell. Owner Andy Badgett presented the award to Senator Albers.

The Guardian of Small Business Award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business. The NFIB Georgia Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to Albers for his outstanding leadership on small business issues.

“John Albers has been an unwavering supporter of small businesses since entering the Georgia Senate over 10 years ago,” NFIB State Director Hunter Loggins said. “Senator Albers achieved a 100 percent NFIB Voting Record in 2023-24 and spearheaded efforts to place Referendum Question A on the November ballot.

“Question A would help small businesses by raising the threshold for paying the state tax on tangible personal property. Small businesses already pay sales taxes on equipment, desks, and other property. The tangible personal property tax means they must pay taxes on the same items year after year. Raising the threshold would relieve some of the financial pressure on Main Street businesses and make it easier for them to grow and create jobs.”
