Alabama's economy rests on its small businesses

NFIB State Director Rosemary Elebash today encouraged people to support small, independent businesses during the last weekend before Christmas and throughout the year.

“The holiday shopping season started with Small Business Saturday, and we need to keep that momentum going,” Elebash said.

“Small business is the foundation of Alabama’s economy,” she added. “When you shop small, your money stays in the community and helps fund schools, roads, and public services.”

Elebash said shoppers should visit local stores, dine at family-owned restaurants, and use independent service providers this weekend and whenever they can. “Shopping local and supporting small businesses is something we should do every day, not just during the holidays.”
