Small Businesses Endorse Rep. John James for Michigan’s 10th Congressional District

CLINTON TWP., Mich. (Oct 8, 2024) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Representative John James for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives to represent Michigan’s 10th Congressional District. The endorsement was announced at NFIB member small business First Independent Agency in Clinton Township.

“As a small business owner, Rep. John James recognizes the importance of a strong small business economy in our state,” said Amanda Fisher, NFIB Michigan State Director. “In his time in Congress, Rep. James has consistently prioritized pro-small business policies, such as co-sponsoring the Main Street Tax Certainty Act, and worked to empower Michigan’s small businesses to grow and thrive. We are certain that Rep. James will continue to be a champion for our Main Streets, and we are proud to endorse him today.”

“Since my first day serving Michigan’s 10th District, the National Federation of Independent Business has been a critical partner in fighting for jobs in my district,” said Rep. John James. “I am grateful to have been named one of NFIB’s Guardians of Small Business—and to have their endorsement. Getting big government out of the way of small business so that entrepreneurs and families can thrive is the surest way to both broaden and shorten the pathway to prosperity for all Americans. I’m grateful to have NFIB’s support!”

“As a proud NFIB member, I’m really excited about our endorsement of Rep. John James for Congress,” said NFIB member and small business owner Tom Sokol of First Independent Agency. “Like many small business owners, I’ve felt the pressure of rising inflation and heavier taxes, and it’s been tough. What I appreciate about John is that he’s been in our shoes – he understands the challenges we face because he’s lived them. I’m confident that his experience as a business owner will help him fight for the changes our district and our country need to get back on track economically.”

“Rep. James is an advocate for Michigan’s small businesses,” said Sharon Sussin, NFIB Senior National Political Director. “He holds a 100% NFIB Voting Record and is an original cosponsor of the Main Street Tax Certainty Act to save the 20% Small Business Deduction. We look forward to continuing to work with him in Congress.”

The endorsement is issued from NFIB FedPAC, NFIB’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by voluntary contributions by NFIB members over and above their membership dues. Decisions made by the NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member-driven grassroots evaluation.
