Running for Office as a Friend of Small Business?

Knowledge of the issues is the surest way to win the support of Main Street

Every candidate for any elective office in America advertises himself or herself as a friend of small business but once elected, most quickly forget who sent them there and why.

It has been a big part of NFIB’s educational mission for 80 years to remind policymakers that small businesses are not smaller versions of big business. They have a much more difficult time than big businesses do in keeping their doors open. The following links provide brief information that NFIB North Dakota, the state’s largest and leading small business association, recommends every candidate acquaint himself or herself with.

Also, check out the NFIB Path to Public Service series. This three-session, virtual program designed to help NFIB members amplify their voices and share their small business expertise in government and political campaigns.

Best of luck with your campaign. We hope you will be the voice of small business.
