Rep. Kelly Keisling Named Guardian of Small Business

Rep Kelly Keisling and NFIB State Director Jim Brown

The Tennessee office of NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, today presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business award to state Rep. Kelly Keisling (District 38, which includes Clay, Macon, Pickett, Scott and part of Fentress counties).

“Kelly Keisling has been a stalwart supporter of small business since becoming a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2011,” NFIB State Director Jim Brown said. “Time and again, Representative Keisling has been supportive of major tax, labor, tort and regulatory reforms that are promoting hiring and investment, which are fundamental building blocks for Tennessee’s positive economic environment. His 100 percent NFIB Voting Record in 2023-24 demonstrates his continuing support for small businesses in his district and statewide.”

The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business. The NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to Keisling for his outstanding leadership on small business issues. The presentation was made at Rep. Keisling’s state office in Nashville. Keisling, who chairs the State Government Committee and serves on the Finance, Ways & Means and Government Operations committees, has been an NFIB member since 2010.

Keisling said, “I’m very grateful to receive the NFIB Guardian of Small Business award. Our state’s economy only does well if small businesses are doing well, and I’ll continue to fight for policies in Nashville that help them grow and thrive in District 38 and statewide.”
