Please Vote Your Washington Member State Ballot

January 4, 2024 Last Edit: July 20, 2024

Results help center NFIB’s lobbying agenda in the Legislature.

Your NFIB Washington-member state ballot has been sent to you. If you haven’t already received it, please use it to express your opinion on four issues the Washington State Legislature will be grappling with in 2024.

Unique among business associations, NFIB annually polls its members on state and federal issues vital to their ability to own, operate, and grow their enterprises. Results from the member ballots center NFIB’s lobbying position in Olympia and in Washington, D.C. It’s because of this method, elected officials and other policymakers from coast to coast consider NFIB to be the true voice of small business.

The 2024 NFIB Washington-member ballot asked four questions:

  • Should Washington levy a payroll tax as a new revenue stream to help fund childcare services?
  • Should Washington increase its estate tax exemption?
  • Should Washington change the way it calculates its tax on motorists, basing the tax on miles driven instead of fuel purchased?
  • Should striking workers be eligible to claim Unemployment Insurance benefits?

The ballot contains background information and proponents’ and opponents’ comments on each of the issues. Please vote your ballot. The Washington State Legislature returns for business on January 8, 2024.
