Please Vote Your Nevada Member State Ballot

January 5, 2024 Last Edit: July 20, 2024

Results help center NFIB’s lobbying agenda in the Legislature.

Your NFIB Nevada-member state ballot has been sent to you. If you haven’t already received it, please use it to express your opinion on four issues.

Unique among business associations, NFIB annually polls its members on state and federal issues vital to their ability to own, operate, and grow their enterprises. Results from the member ballots center NFIB’s lobbying position in Carson City and in Washington, D.C. It’s because of this method, elected officials and other policymakers from coast to coast consider NFIB to be the true voice of small business.

The 2024 NFIB Nevada-member ballot asked four questions:

  • Should the gross receipts tax exemption threshold be increased from $4 million to $6 million so more businesses are exempt from the commerce tax?
  • Should Nevada implement broad-based protections from heat and smoke for employees across all industries?
  • Should Nevada require employers to disclose salary ranges and benefits on job postings?
  • Should Nevada require businesses to accept cash as a form of payment?

The ballot contains background information and proponents’ and opponents’ comments on each of the issues. Please vote your ballot. Although the full Nevada Legislature doesn’t return until 2025, interim committees are shaping the agenda in 2024.
