Results help center NFIB’s lobbying agenda in the Legislature.
Your NFIB California-member state ballot has been sent to you. If you haven’t already received it, please use it to express your opinion on four issues the State Legislature will be grappling with in 2024.
Unique among business associations, NFIB annually polls its members on state and federal issues vital to their ability to own, operate, and grow their enterprises. Results from the member ballots center NFIB’s lobbying position in Sacramento and in Washington, D.C. It’s because of this method, elected officials and other policymakers from coast to coast consider NFIB to be the true voice of small business.
The 2024 NFIB California-member ballot asked four questions:
- Should California abolish private insurance plans and replace them with a government-run “single payer” healthcare system?
- Should California reduce full-time work hours from 40 to 32 hours per week?
- Should all California businesses be required to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and those of any entity with whom they do business?
- Should California amend its Constitution to require voter approval for all new state taxes and tax increases passed by the legislature?
The ballot contains background information and proponents’ and opponents’ comments on each of the issues. Please vote your ballot. The California State Legislature is already back in session and will be working on legislation until August 31.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
