Optimism Index Underscores Challenges Facing Louisiana's Small Businesses

NFIB State Director Dawn McVea says the latest NFIB Small Business Optimism Index underscores the challenges that continue to face Louisiana businesses. “Global issues like inflation and supply chain disruptions are definitely having an impact on things here at home,” McVea said. “Small businesses aren’t going to invest in new equipment let alone expand unless they believe the economy is sound and is going to stay that way. “Our small business members also say they’re still having trouble filling job vacancies, which is causing a lot of them to limit the services they provide and their hours of operation,” she said.
