NFIB Continues National Ad Campaign to Stop the Massive Tax Hike on Small Businesses
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Nov. 7, 2024) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, announced a new, seven-figure advertising campaign across Washington, D.C. and several states featuring targeted television ads and digital ads. To spearhead and continue the 2025 tax debate ahead of the 119th Congress, the broad-based, multi-platform campaign includes two new ads focusing on the importance of making the expiring 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent by passing the Main Street Tax Certainty Act. The ads feature small business owners from across America who are urging Congress to take action and stop the massive tax hike on small businesses.

“Small businesses are the foundation of the American economy, and the 20% Small Business Deduction is the most significant tax cut for small businesses in the last few decades, helping level the playing field between Main Street and large corporations,” said NFIB President Brad Close. “Suddenly removing these tax savings will decimate America’s small businesses, who have already started pulling back in preparation for the worst. Congress must pass the Main Street Tax Certainty Act to avoid a massive tax hike on nine out of 10 small businesses.”
The 20% Small Business Deduction was created as a part of the 2017 tax law to level the playing field between small businesses and larger corporations. It has empowered small business owners to overcome the economic challenges of the last few years – but it’s set to expire at the end of 2025. The Main Street Tax Certainty Act would make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent and avoid a massive tax hike on a majority of America’s small businesses.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
