NFIB member and small business owner of Ignite Accounting & Business Advisors Alison Couch testified in a hearing about the need to stop the massive tax hike by making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent. Alison testified before the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means on January 14, marking her second time testifying before the committee.

Alison’s testimony focused on the lack of certainty her clients have regarding whether the provisions of their small businesses depend upon will be extended. “These include the 20% Small Business Deduction and reduced rates for individual income brackets. Moreover, they are still faced with steep regulatory requirements imposed by taxing authorities that deplete much of their time and efforts,” Alison explained.

Alison urged Congress to act quickly to preserve the 20% Small Business Deduction and reduce burdens on small businesses. Learn more about the benefits of the deduction and updates on legislation to make it permanent.
