NFIB Hosts Virtual Town Hall with State Treasurer Folwell

NFIB today hosted a virtual town hall with State Treasurer Dale Folwell to discuss North Carolina’s financial health. “I’m about to say something that you’ve never heard in your life” from an elected official, Folwell said. “The state debt of North Carolina is going to fall 60 percent … over eight years, and that credit goes to taxpayers like yourselves and employers and also the General Assembly who’s had the discipline to live within their means, balance their budget, put forth the reforms necessary to pay off the unemployment debt, build surpluses and establish rainy-day funds.” Folwell said, “All the people of this want is somebody to talk to them like adults and that what they say makes common sense and will attack problems and not people, and I appreciate NFIB’s role in that.”
