NFIB Cheers Vote Reducing Ohio’s Workers’ Comp Rates

February 23, 2024 Last Edit: June 5, 2025

The rate for private employers will be reduced an average of 7% effective July 1

NFIB Assistant State Director Cameron Garczyk released the following statement today in response to the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation’s announcement that the workers’ comp rate for private employers will be reduced an average of 7% effective July 1:

“Small businesses across Ohio will be glad to see another sizeable reduction in their workers’ comp premiums when this change takes effect in July. We are pleased to see the BWC continuing the trend as Ohio employers are now experiencing the lowest workers’ comp rates in decades.

“As inflation and labor shortages continue to pose significant challenges for Main Street, this rate cut will allow businesses to reinvest in their workforce and promote expansion opportunities.”
