NFIB Awards Senator Joni Ernst Guardian of Small Business Award

DES MOINES, Iowa (Sept. 19, 2022) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, awarded U.S. Senator Joni Ernst the Guardian of Small Business Award, NFIB’s most prestigious legislative recognition. “Senator Ernst has been a dependable supporter of small businesses in Congress,” said Matt Everson, NFIB Iowa State Director. “As a senior member of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, she has prioritized key small business issues and has been a strong advocate for lower taxes and fewer regulations. Senator Ernst earned a 100% NFIB voting record for the 117th Congress, voting consistently with small businesses. We are pleased to name her a Guardian of Small Business.” “Iowa’s small businesses are the backbone of our economy,” said Senator Ernst. “As a senior Republican on the Senate Small Business Committee, I will continue to fight for our small businesses, and work to get Washington out of the way so our local employers can continue to prosper. I’m grateful to NFIB for their support as we work together to strengthen Iowa’s economy and our communities.” “NFIB awards the Guardian of Small Business Award to Members of Congress who have proven to be real champions of small businesses,” said Brad Close, NFIB President and CEO. “Senator Ernst has been an ally for small businesses by supporting policies that would grow the small business economy and promote job growth. NFIB is proud to present her with this award.” Find a complete list of the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award recipients from the 117th Congress here. NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business Award is reserved for lawmakers who vote consistently with small businesses on key issues identified by small business owners. Those who voted with small business on key issues 70% or more of the time during the 117th Congress earned the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award. NFIB informs lawmakers in advance which votes will be considered NFIB Key Votes and asks lawmakers to support the consensus views of our membership. We also remind them that the results will be reported back to the NFIB membership.
