NFIB Awards Congressman Ted Budd Guardian of Small Business Award

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, presented Congressman Ted Budd with the Guardian of Small Business Award, NFIB’s most prestigious legislative recognition. “Congressman Ted Budd has been a great representation for North Carolina’s small businesses in Washington,” said Gregg Thompson, NFIB North Carolina State Director. “He earned a 100% NFIB voting record for the 117th Congress and has demonstrated that he is a pro-small business Member of Congress. On behalf of North Carolina’s small businesses, we are proud to name Congressman Budd a Guardian of Small Business.” “I’d like to thank the NFIB very much for this honor,” said Congressman Ted Budd. “The NFIB does tremendous work standing up for our country’s small business and main street shops. For as long as I hold public office, I will always work hard to be the voice of North Carolina’s job creators in Washington, so that more citizens can achieve the American dream.” “The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is awarded to Members of Congress who have proven themselves to be real champions of small businesses,” said Brad Close, NFIB President and CEO. “Congressman Ted Budd has received the award for opposing legislation that would harm the small business economy, such as the Build Back Better Act and the PRO Act. He was a strong advocate for small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic and supported the PPP Extension Act of 2021. Small businesses are grateful for his commitment to small business issues and NFIB is pleased to present him with this award today.” Find a complete list of the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award recipients from the 117th Congress, please click here. NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business Award is reserved for lawmakers who vote consistently with small businesses on key issues identified by small business owners. Those who voted with small business on key issues 70% or more of the time during the 117th Congress earned the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award. NFIB informs lawmakers in advance which votes will be considered NFIB Key Votes and asks lawmakers to support the consensus views of our members. We also remind them that the results will be reported back to the NFIB membership.
