NFIB Applauds Governor’s Commitment to Small Business

March 12, 2024 Last Edit: July 23, 2024

Gov. Jeff Landry told lawmakers he wants to improve workforce development, cut red tape, and reduce the financial burden on small businesses by increasing competition and reducing insurance costs

NFIB State Director Leah Long released the following statement in response to Gov. Jeff Landry’s opening remarks to the state legislature:

“The devil is always in the details, but we were encouraged by Governor Landry’s commitment to address workforce development, cut red tape, and reduce the financial burden on small businesses by increasing competition and reducing insurance costs.

“It was clear from Governor Landry’s speech that he understands the challenges facing Louisiana‘s small businesses. Our members are still contending with rising prices on everything from raw materials to the paper that sales receipts are printed on. Inflation is also eroding families’ purchasing power.

“NFIB is looking forward to working with Governor Landry and legislative leaders to pass legislation that helps Louisiana‘s job creators during this uncertain time.”
