New TV Ads: Small Business Owners Urge Lawmakers to Act Now

What it means: The 20% Small Business Tax Deduction was created as a part of the 2017 tax law to level the playing field between small businesses and larger corporations. It has helped small businesses provide various employee benefits such as better pay and health insurance.
Our take: The Main Street Tax Certainty Act would make the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent and avoid a massive tax hike on America’s small businesses.

NFIB started a new advertising campaign across Washington, D.C. and several states targeting TV and digital ads. This will spearhead the 2025 tax debate ahead of the 119th Congress to make the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent before it expires.
The campaign, featuring multiple platforms, will include two ads focusing on making the expiring 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent by passing the Main Street Tax Certainty Act. The ads will feature small business owners urging Congress to act and stop the massive tax hike on small business.
“Suddenly removing these tax savings will decimate America’s small businesses, who have already started pulling back in preparation for the worst. Congress must pass the Main Street Tax Certainty Act to avoid a massive tax hike on nine out of 10 small businesses,” said NFIB President Brad Close.
