Small business owners gathered in Santa Fe to discuss challenges, opportunities, and policy proposals.
Last week, NFIB New Mexico State Director Jason Espinoza hosted the 2025 Small Business Day in Santa Fe. There, local job creators were able to connect with fellow business owners, engage their lawmakers, and hear updates on the Legislative Session.
During the event, NFIB members were able to share with lawmakers how costly mandates, including Paid Family Medical Leave, would make it harder for them to keep their doors open.
“Having our members here at the Roundhouse to share their stories always makes a big impact,” Espinoza said. “It’s important for lawmakers to understand how the policy proposals they’re considering can affect small business owners and their employees. We will continue working with the Legislature on pro-growth reforms that make it easier to own and operate a business in New Mexico.”
