Local Job Creators Applaud Passage of Regulatory Sandbox Act

JEFFERSON CITY (Feb. 7, 2023) – After the Regulatory Sandbox Act (SB 3) passed the General Assembly, NFIB State Director Brad Jones issued the following statement: “This is a great day for small businesses in Missouri. NFIB has long advocated for an Office of Entrepreneurship. We need a one-stop shop where small business owners can call one place to get their questions answered. I know job creators across the state will appreciate this resource, where they’ll be able to make recommendations and reduce burdensome regulations that make it difficult to own and operate a business. Main Street is still trying to recover after the pandemic, and this tool will ensure more businesses can thrive. NFIB will continue to work with legislators to make it easier to do business in the Show Me state.” Background: SB 3 establishes a regulatory relief office to “review state laws and regulations that may unnecessarily inhibit the creation and success of new companies or industries.” This office would then have the authority to provide lawmakers recommendations “on modifying or repealing such state laws and regulations.”
