Disaster Loans Available for Small Businesses in Southwest MI Hurt by May Tornadoes

Disaster Loans Available for Small Businesses in Southwest MI Hurt by May Tornadoes

In conjunction with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the State of Michigan, there are new resources including low-interest loans for those impacted by the storms on May 7, 2024. Those within Kalamazoo County and contiguous counties with damage from the storms are eligible. Businesses and nonprofits can borrow up to $2 million for repairs or replacement of equipment, and homeowners can get up to $500,000 to repair damaged property. A disaster loan outreach center is being set up at Portage City Hall. It will be open on Friday, July 12 through Saturday, July 26, 2024, and will be open 9am to 6pm weekdays and 10am to 2pm on Saturdays. You can walk in or schedule an appointment online.
