SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 26, 2022—The political action committee for California’s largest and leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Joe Patterson for State Assembly.

“Joe Patterson’s deep policy expertise, knowledge of how the Legislature works, and local elective office experience make him perfectly suited for the job of State Assembly member,” said John Kabateck, California state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), speaking for the NFIB CA PAC, which made the endorsement. “There will be no learning curve with him. He will hit the ground running, and we look forward to working with him on initiatives to improve the small-business economic climate in California.”

The new 5th Assembly District includes the communities of Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Granite Bay, Auburn, North Auburn, Loomis, Meadow Vista, Newcastle, Penryn, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Diamond Springs, Placerville, Shingle Springs, Auburn Lake Trails, Georgetown, Cold Springs, and Coloma.

NFIB’s national membership spans the spectrum of business operations, ranging from sole proprietor enterprises to firms with hundreds of employees. While there is no standard definition of a small business, the typical NFIB member employs 10 people and reports gross sales of about $500,000 a year. The NFIB membership is a reflection of American small business. Small-business owners are also a potent political force.
