NFIB Members Gather in Nashville for Small Business Day

Date: February 13, 2024

The event gave small business owners the chance to speak out on issues affecting Main Street

NFIB members from across Tennessee gathered in Nashville on Feb. 13 for NFIB’s annual Small Business Day at the Capitol. This year’s event was held at the Cordell Hull State Office Building.

“This is an important event because it allows our members to engage with elected officials, and it allows elected officials to hear directly from their constituents on Main Street,” NFIB State Director Jim Brown said.

This year’s agenda included updates on state and federal legislation and a preview of the upcoming elections.

Presenters included state Reps. Darren Jernigan and Sam Whitson, who offered advice on how to get lawmakers’ attention and how to ensure they listen.

Other speakers included Sen. Paul Bailey and Rep. Kevin Vaughan, who chair their chambers’ Commerce Committees.

“I want to thank all of the leaders who attended this year’s event for taking the time to meet with our members,” Brown said. “I also want to thank our members for coming and doing their part to ensure the voice of small business is heard loud and clear in the General Assembly.”
