WATCH: Governor’s Tax Plan Provides Small Business Tax Relief

With a nearly $33 billion budget surplus, Texas small business owners expected to get some of that money back in tax relief. Following the Governor’s call for a special session, the House advanced a tax relief plan that would immediately reduce the burden of property taxes on job creators. The bill includes $17.6 billion in savings for Texans. In an interview with KXAN’s Ryan Chandler, NFIB State Director Annie Spilman discussed how tax relief would help small business owners keep their doors open. “This is a plan that we feel like is equitable. It doesn’t pick winners or losers. Our small business owners will get tax relief, homeowners will get tax relief, renters will get tax relief,” Spilman said. “Some may say that, well, that could only be a couple thousand dollars. To a small business owner, that is a lot of savings that they will put directly back in their business.” CLICK HERE to watch the full interview.
