April Meetings Bring Lawmakers to NFIB Members

Meetings with top policymakers arranged by NFIB for its small-business-owning members are one of the big benefits of belonging to the nation’s leading association of Main Street entrepreneurs. The high regard small-business owners are held has given NFIB a clout that can command the cooperation of those making the laws under which small businesses must abide. With this ability, NFIB New Mexico held two recent meetings that put the concerns and worries of Main Street business owners within earshot of those with an ability to do something about them. Two recent member meetings were held in Deming on April 7 and in Albuquerque the next day, April 8. For the Deming meeting NFIB partnered with the Deming-Luna County Economic Development, Inc., (DLED) to hear from State Sen. Crystal Diamond, State Rep. Candie Sweetser, and Cassie Arias-Ward, economic and tourism development coordinator for the city of Deming. In Albuquerque, NFIB members met with State Rep. Meredith Dixon, who is a member of the Legislature’s Economic Development & Policy Committee. “Our member meetings are a benefit for both guests and small-business owners who enjoy the exchange of information and ideas,” said Jason Espinoza, NFIB New Mexico state director. “If you haven’t been to one yet, I think you’ll find them highly rewarding.” Interested in a member meeting in your area?
