Small Businesses Call on Missouri Lawmakers to Support Regulatory Relief

February 6, 2024 Last Edit: June 5, 2025

HB 1960 would provide regulatory relief for small business owners.

JEFFERSON CITY (Feb. 6, 2024) – Ahead of the House’s vote on HB 1960, the Regulatory Sandbox Act, NFIB State Director Brad Jones called on state lawmakers to stand up for small business owners and support the measure.

“NFIB has long advocated for a one-stop shop for our small businesses to get their questions answered. The new Regulatory Relief Office will be a tremendous resource to our job creators. As the folks who have to deal with a myriad of rules and regulations each day, our small business owners are best equipped to make recommendations to ease that burden. Our members are asking the House and the Senate to stand up for small business owners and pass needed regulatory relief.”

Background:

HB 1960, the Regulatory Sandbox Act, creates the Regulatory Relief Office within the Department of Economic Development. Last year, small business owners were disappointed the bill did not make it to the Governor’s desk for signature.
