NFIB Wants to Know How Rising Health Costs Impact Your Massachusetts Business

Recently, the Health Policy Commission and the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing conducted their annual health growth benchmark hearing. This meeting is to determine whether the cost growth benchmark should be adjusted for the average growth in total health care expenditures for 2023. NFIB provided testimony at the hearing emphasizing healthcare expenses continue to rise for small businesses in Massachusetts. Our unique merged market serves as a major disadvantage for small employers and seemingly leads to cross-subsidizing of the health market, meaning small businesses pay more so that individuals pay less. We are asking you to take part in this brief survey to better understand what small businesses are facing regarding health cost growth. Please take a moment to complete this brief, three-question survey.

Speaking of healthcare, you can learn more about health costs and other pending legislation regarding taxes, labor mandates, UI, and energy on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from noon until 1:30 p.m. for a virtual Massachusetts Small Business Day!

This year’s program will focus on small business health insurance affordability and what can be done to lower costs for employers and their workers. As you are aware, health costs continue to rise in Massachusetts forcing many small businesses into high deductible, high-cost plans. We expect a robust discussion on this topic with policymaker guests to explore potential solutions and cost relief for employers. In addition to healthcare affordability, we will present on other issues facing Massachusetts small businesses like unemployment insurance, labor mandates, taxation, and energy. Ready to register?
